Bands & Collaborations
Lob Tech Tones
The Lob Tech Tones is a jazz-fusion trio, due to the meeting of Piergiorgio Lucidi (guitar), Michele Benigna (drummer who have collaborated with Tollak, Hollestated, Pippo Matino, Rocco Ziffarelli) and me. The references of the band are: Tribal Tech, Scott Henderson, Allan Holdsworth, Weather Report, Miles Davis, Robben Ford and many others.
Lob Tech set is characterized by standard jazz, reviewed in a modern key, by Tribal Tech's covers and by our own tracks. We recorded our first album "The First" where the track which gives the title to the album and the cover by Tribal Tech "Nite Club" are the most relevant. After Michele Benigna left to London, Lob Tech had some interesting drummers during the years as: Roberto Marsiali (Individual Choise), Andrea Nicolé (Adale) and finally Pino Liberti. Then to sing some tracks we decided also to call another member Lucia Palumbo at voice, a jazz/soul talented singer.
With Lob I've performed at:
- Jazz for Holiday 2007 (San Nicola d'Arcella)
- Jazz for Holiday 2008
- Jazz-id Area 2008 (Rieti) where we won the "Petagramma Circolare".
- Roma Rock Festival 2008
and in a series of events and concerts in the clubs of Rome.
Kingcrow
Kingcrow is a Progressive Metal band with references like Fates Warning, Pain of Salvation, Rush and King Crimson. I started the collaboration with Kingcrow, recording the track "Fading out pt II" for the album "Timetropia" and then I performed in the next tour "Timetropia 2008" at the major Italian Metal festivals, as:
MidSummer in Rock (Rome, June 2007)
Evolution Festival 2007 (Florence, July 2007)
S- Hammer Metal Fest (Caserta, CE, July 2007)
Lucille Rock Fest Part I (Verona, March, 2008)
TM of Nwobhm (Rome, Formello, March, 2008)
MotoRock as Firefest (Varese, June, 2008)
GODS OF METAL 2008 (Bologna, June, 2008)
It's also to remember the success of the concert at the "Black Bird" (Formello, Rome) where in the video section you can find an extract of my solo. This prolific collaboration led to the recording of the new album "Phlegethon" a mix of Heavy sounds and more harmonic and rhythmical ideas on "Rush" and "Pain of Salvation" style.
Beta Elements
Beta Elements is a Progressive Rock Band born from the idea of the guitarist and songwriter Piero Orlando who, inspired by literature books, writes tracks and words. So Beta Elements recorded a mini album of 3 tracks inspired from literature, as: "Il cavaliere Inesistente" from the namesake work of Italo Calvino; "Se questo è un uomo" from the book of Primo Levi and "La Fortezza" based on the Dino Buzzati's "Il Deserto dei Tartari". The "Donami le Ali" event, sees Beta Elements on the same stage where performed special hosts as Maria Pia De Vito, one of the greatest Italian jazz singer.
